Karmacode Discussion Thread

Post by Caz on Wed Mar 19, 2008 9:00 pm

This is the thread to discuss this album.

A lot of people don't like this album but i actually think it's the best they've ever done. I like every single track, especially What I See, To The Edge, Our Truth and Enjoy The Silence.

Do you like Karmacode and why? Is there something awful about this album i'm just missing? Razz

I like the album, but a lot of the songs seem to sound the same on it to me. I'm not sure that Lacuna Coil can ever beat their Comalies album to be honest and if this was their attempt to then it failed miserably IMO. However, at least they can cover songs well. Their version of 'Enjoy The Silence' is awesome. Maybe Tarja Turunen should take notice of Lacuna Coil if she ever wants to successfully cover any other songs. Her versions of 'Poison' and 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' were god awful...lol

It was their first album I heard and I like it so much.

Im going to go with purple, only in the aspect that so many of the songs sound too similar. But I dont think it was a miserable attempt at a follow up to Comalies.. it was just such a HUGE difference between the two discs, which I can only surmise was due to the length of time between the 2.

But...I HATED the Enjoy The Silence cover.. mainly because i was such a HUGE Depeche Mode fan growing up...to me it was a sad cover..mediocre at best. Rammstein did a much better cover of DM's Stripped IMO. But then again i am of the opinion that a band that no longer uses keyboards shouldnt be covering such a keyboard dependent band.

I like three tracks off of it: Within Me, Our Truth and Closer. The rest is very...meh imo. I can't explain, I just don't like the album as a whole

not gonna deny its good, but not the best IMO...but you are for sure entitled to think so!!!

I got into them before Karmacode, so it wasnt what i heard first. one thing I have found is most of the people who love Karmacode most, got into them during that period. Not a bad thing, just an observation.

I noticed that too. In fact i've noticed that with Evanescence too, if they got into them during The Open Door period they prefer that album.

I like Karmakode. i think it's heavier than their previous few albums and it shows off Cristina's and Andrea's vocals a little more

I agree. I got into them with Comalies but I got to see them live on this tour and I was like WOW. But also when this album first released I was completely addicted to it. I think they get a little better with each album but it the next one isn't good you can take that statement back. Though I think they can surprise me. They did with Karmacode.
